Oncology Massage

“The act of massage unites

heaven and earth,

spirit and matter,

divine and mundane.”

— Gayle MacDonald, Medicine Hands: Massage Therapy for People with Cancer

Oncology massage is a specialized and compassionate approach to help each unique individual manage their experience with cancer.

Each session is highly individualized, meeting that person exactly where they are that day in order to comfort, nurture, and support them in their process. The aim is to gently improve quality of life right now with improved relaxation, sleep, and immune function as well as relieving anxiety, pain, fatigue, and nausea.

I have completed the Oncology Massage Global Module 1 with Society for Oncology Massage (S4OM). This training has prepared me to work safely and effectively with people from diagnosis through active treatment to survivorship or end stage of the disease. I am able to work appropriately with those who have a compromised immune system and the medically fragile, including those who have recently undergone surgery, are currently receiving radiation or chemotherapy, or are using medical devices. I was trained to recognize early indicators for medical referral.
