A Fish Doesn’t Recognize the Water Until It’s Out of It

A Fish Doesn’t Recognize the Water Until It’s Out of It

What a powerful truth.

We don’t always see the environments, beliefs, or patterns we’re immersed in—until we step outside of them.

Sometimes, it takes distance to recognize what has shaped us.

Sometimes, it takes contrast to see what we’ve been swimming in all along.

Only when we break free do we begin to truly understand.

The Old Tribal Wound

This brings me back to the old tribal wound—the deep, ancestral imprint of separation, exclusion, and survival-based attachment. The fear of being cast out, disconnected from the tribe, from safety, from love.

It lingers in our bones, our nervous systems, our quiet moments—in the ways we seek approval, shrink ourselves, or silence our truth just to feel accepted, included, protected.

It is the ancestral memory of exile, of being misunderstood, of knowing that breaking away from the known means risking everything. And yet, the call to evolve, to heal, to step into something new is stronger.

Healing this wound means reclaiming sovereignty over our belonging—knowing that true connection isn’t about conforming to outdated systems, but about standing fully in our truth and finding those who recognize us as we are.

It is a homecoming to ourselves, a reminder that we were never meant to stay small for the sake of the tribe. We were meant to expand, to carry forward the wisdom of both past and future.

This is Where I Am Now

In the midst of it all.

Sitting with the waves of anger, sadness, and the familiar urge to stay small to stay safe.

I see her—the little one within me—the one who runs from chaos, from the ugly, from the pain.

She carries burdens that were never hers to hold.

I hold her tenderly. We sway together. She is reminded:

  ㅤ♡ She is safe.

  ㅤ♡ She is loved.

ㅤ♡ She is free to explore and find what truly brings her joy.

As I deepen my integration into wholeness, both in my work as a bodyworker and through somatic experiencing with Jake White Healing LLC, I feel myself moving through layers of old energy that no longer serve me.

And so, I step forward—onto the next stage of my evolution.

Somatic Attachment Therapy Certification

I’m honored to be enrolling in a 60-hour Somatic Attachment Therapy certification with The Embody Lab.

This program is led by extraordinary experts in the field, including:

★ Dr. Gabor Maté

★ Dr. Peter Levine

★ Dr. Dan Siegel

★ Kai Cheng Thom

★ Nkem Ndefo

★ And many more

To fellow bodyworkers, coaches, and healers—I highly recommend The Embody Lab. Their programs are deeply insightful, healing, and transformative.

I recently completed Applied Polyvagal Theory in Trauma-Informed Yoga with Dr. Arielle Schwartz and Dr. Stephen Porges, and it was a profound experience of being seen, held, and guided through the process with so much care.

What a gift it is to do this work from home—and still feel so connected to the world.

Temporary Shift in My Hours at The Ritual Spa

 ★ Classes run from March 25th - June 9th.

During this time, I will be temporarily adjusting my hours at The Ritual Spa to Tuesdays, 10 AM - 6 PM, so I can attend live sessions.

After the course is complete, I will resume my longer hours.

To my clients—thank you for your understanding and support as I continue to dive deep, learn, and grow.

This journey is not just for me—it’s for all of us.  Finding true freedom through embodiment ㅤ♡
